What is the "Data Dump" service?
Accompa offers you a service called "Data Dump". When you subscribe to this service, you can download a copy of the requirements data in your Accompa system at a scheduled frequency, such as monthly. You can securely download your data (in the form of a ZIP file) and retain it in your company network.
Thus, the "Data Dump" service provides you an added layer of data retention and backup, and hence peace of mind.

How do I download my data dump?
Once you subscribe to this service, you can download your data dump using the following steps:
- Login using an account that has 'Administrator' privileges.
- Click Settings on the top-right, and select Manage Data from the menu.
- In the resulting page, click Download Data Dump link.
- You'll see a page that lists all data dumps available for download. Click the desired "download" link to download the ZIP file. Depending on the size of your data, the download may take some time to complete.
- Once you download the ZIP file, extract its contents. This will create a new folder containing the XML files and instructions on using the files.
We'll send you an email every month once the data dump is ready for your download. This email is sent to users on your Accompa system who have "Administrator (Billing)" privileges.

IMPORTANT:
On computers running certain Windows OS flavors, opening this ZIP file will not properly display XML files, as the OS blocks extracting ZIP files downloaded via internet/email which contain XML files.
In such cases, please try one of the following options:
- Contact your organization's IT department to get their help in extracting this ZIP file.
- Use a computer running another OS - such as Linux or Mac - to unzip the ZIP file. This usually works without any issues whatsoever.
- Download 7-Zip (free, open source, proven tool) to your Windows PC and use it to extract the ZIP file. This should work well, as long as you have the ability to install 7-Zip on your computer.
- After you install 7-Zip, simply right-click on the data dump ZIP file and select 7-Zip > Extract Here.
