When you click Save to Computer As , and select Word  or HTML format - if the saved document happens to contain images, a ZIP file will be saved to your computer.

This ZIP file contains the Word or HTML document, as well as the images for the document. Such a ZIP file ensures the broadest possible compatibility across different platforms - and provides access to the original images.

Create a Word file with embedded images:

After you save the ZIP file to your computer, you can create a Word document with embedded images by following these steps (these steps are based on Office 2007):

• Extract the ZIP file (right-click on ZIP file, and select "Extract...") - the Word document and a folder named "images" will be saved to your computer.
• Open the Word document using Microsoft Word, and save it as a Word file (*.docx) - by selecting "File > Save As > Word Document". Screenshot
• Select "File > Prepare > Edit Links to Files" from Word menu. Screenshot
• In the dialog window that opens:
  • Highlight all images. Screenshot
  • Check "Save picture in document" checkbox. Screenshot
  • Then click 'OK'.
• Save the file. All the images will now be embedded within your newly created Word file (*.docx). You can share this Word file with others, instead of the ZIP file.

Create an HTML file with images:

After you save the ZIP file to your computer, you can create an HTML file with images by following these steps:

• Extract the ZIP file (right-click on ZIP file, and select "Extract...") - the HTML file and a folder named "images" will be saved to your computer.
• Open the HTML file in your browser, and all the images will now be displayed.
