What is a "SmartView Group" and how do I use it?

 Print This

In situations where you need to create a large number of SmarViews (say, more than 20 SmartViews) to manage your requirements data, a SmartView Group is useful.

A SmartView Group enables you to group similar SmartViews together and create a hierarchy of SmartViews - this in turn, makes it easier to access and manage a large number of SmartViews.

To create a SmartView Group, please follow these steps:

  • Login using an account that has 'Administrator' privileges.
  • Click Settings on the top-right, and select Manage Data from the menu.
  • In the resulting page, click the link named  Create and Manage "SmartView Groups" .
  • In the page that appears, create desired "SmartView Groups" by clicking one of the  Add SmartView Group...  buttons, and following on-screen directions.
  • After you've created desired "SmartView Groups" - select the "Enable" radiobutton at the top of this page, and click "Save" button.

Now when you access your SmartViews using the "SmartView" menus (either under "Start" tab or the left sidebar section of pages under "Requirements/Features/Use Cases" tabs) - the SmartViews will be grouped together using the SmartView Groups you created.
