How does "Grouping" work when creating Requirements Document (MRD/PRD/SRS)?

 Print This

"Grouping" section in Reqs Doc Wizard enables you to group requirements in the Requirements Document (MRD/PRD/SRS) created.

For example, if you choose:

  • Group by "Type of Requirement" -- Sort groups from low to high

in the "Grouping" section of  the wizard, and if you happened to have 3 types of requirements, namely:

  • Functional
  • Performance
  • Scalability

then the Requirements Document created will list the requirements under 3 sections. For example:

  • Section 1: Functional
    • Requirement 1
    • Requirement 2
    • Requirement 3
  • Section 2: Performance
    • Requirement 4
    • Requirement 5
  • Section 3: Scalability
    • Requirement 6

This feature thus makes it easy for you to create Requirements Documents that contain requirements categorized by desired fields. You can use any picklist field to group requirements in this fashion.
