What is "Impact Analysis", and how can I benefit from it?

 Print This

"Impact analysis" enables you to analyze the impact caused by a change to an item (such as a "Requirement"). It shows you how the other items in your project will be impacted.

When a change request comes in for an item, you can perform "Impact Analysis" using Accompa to see the all the other items that will be impacted by such a change.

Impact analysis uses the relationships you’ve created between the items, and quickly shows you a complete picture of all the items that will be affected - directly or indirectly.

By performing "Impact Analysis" before making any changes, you can:

  • Avoid unpleasant surprises within the project team
  • Avoid unexpected delays caused by secondary and tertiary impacts of the change, and
  • Implement a systematic change control process
