How do I change the order of values in "picklist" fields?

By default the values in a "picklist" field are in alphabetical order. Here are the steps to change the order of the values in your "picklist" fields when adding a new field or editing an existing field:

Please note:
  • The following steps apply to both "Picklist - Pick One" and "Picklist - Pick Multiple" fields.

Adding a new field:

  1. Login using an account that has 'Administrator' privileges.
  2. Click Settings on the top-right, and select Customize Accompa from the menu.
  3. In the resulting page, click the desired Add New Field link.
  4. Then choose one of the following "Picklist" field types:
    • Picklist - Pick One
  5. The "Add new field" page is displayed.
  6. Once you've added a list of values in the "Values" field, scroll to the "Field Value Sorting" section.
  7. Click the "Sort field values manually" radio button.
    • Then click on one of your "picklist" field values to select it.
    • Use the Up and Down buttons to move the selected value.
  8. Once you're done changing the field value sorting, click the Save button.
  9. The customized order of the values in your "picklist" field will be displayed for all of your users.

Editing an existing field:

  1. Login using an account that has 'Administrator' privileges.
  2. Click Settings on the top-right, and select Customize Accompa from the menu.
  3. In the resulting page, click desired  Edit (or delete) fields link.
  4. In the page that appears, click edit link next to the desired "picklist" field.
  5. The "Edit Field" page is displayed, then scroll to the "Field Value Sorting" section.
  6. Click the "Sort field values manually" radio button.
    • Then click on one of your "picklist" field values to select it.
    • Use the Up and Down buttons to move the selected value.
  7. Once you're done changing the field value sorting, click the Save button.
  8. The customized order of the values in your "picklist" field will be displayed for all of your users.
