The top-10 blogs for product managers (in no particular order):

Honorable mention: We were forbidden by our overlords from considering Michael on Product Management blog due to the fact that Michael now writes for our blog. While it’s not active, it has some very educational posts.

Update: Due to overwhelming demand from our community, our Top-10 list now has 11 items. Full credit for this goes to Scott, Joanne and John! :)

Great list. I just started blogging 6 months ago but have been doing product management in some capacity since 1999. Feel free to stop by and see my musings about software product management based on my experiences in PM at Google, Microsoft, and studying product development at Harvard. http://www.AlwaysBeShipping.com

  2. Gopal Shenoy says:

Thanks for the honorable mention on your top 10 list.

  3. bob corrigan says:

This is what I get for spending too much time on Twitter – I’ve fallen off the leaderboard!

  4. Jim Holland says:

Great list of product management and product marketing folks. It will be amazing what social media, collaboration and the community of product management will be able to accomplish in the near future. For all those not on the list, or micro-blogging with other tools, we recognize and salute you for your contributions!

  5. Great list! In January, I did a end-of-year/beginning-of-year type list here: http://grandview.rymatech.com/pmv/blog/2009/01/the-top-product-management-blogs.php

  6. Hey Y’ALL (being Southern, here), The Cranky Product Manager thanks y’all for including her in such illustrious company. And for all the folks who say she is funny. Cuz right now her Cranky Kid is going through a phase where he constantly says “That’s NOT funny, Mommy!”

  7. mark says:

We just started our new product managemers blog for technology product managers made up of several product managers from Microsoft, Oracle and AT&T:

@Scott – Funny comment about party schools! :)

@Scott, Joanne & John – Thanks for correcting our oversight – we agree, Steve rocks.

@All bloggers – Thanks for your ongoing contributions, made out of sheer love for the art & practice of product management. You’re awesome. Too bad we can only include 10 (er… 11) in our Top-10 list.

  10. Thanks for the call-out for http://www.productmarketing.com from Scott, Joanne, and John. New subscribers welcome!

  11. Well dang it, all of those blogs are very well done. However, don’t forget that are even more product management blog resources out there like… The Accidental Product Manger.

  17. Joanne Levy says:

What about steve Johnson’s blog at http://www.productmarketing.com. According to the information on his blog, he has been blogging since 2002, has more than 4,500 subscribers to his RSS feed and is ranked #4 by Alltop in the Product Managment Category.

  18. Ivan Chalif says:

Thanks for the mention. That’s good company to be in.

In keeping with Scott’s comment, we all wish we could be as entertaining as Cranky, but there can be only ONE!

  19. Saeed Khan says:

    Hi,

Thanks for including us in your list. I track most of those blogs regularly. Keep up the good work on your blog as well.

    Saeed

  20. Thanks for the shout-out. I’m a fan of all of those too – although I still contend that Cranky is the best writer among us. “She” manages to combine insights with entertainment, with a great voice.

Also, let me shout out another vote for your honorable mention. I’m glad he’s writing somewhere, but still miss ‘Michael on Product Management’. Reminds me of when the University of South Carolina was excluded from a “top ten party schools” list about 20 years ago, because they were “professionals.”

I was also surprised to not see Roger Cauvin’s and Steve Johnson’s blogs – they also rock!
