How does "Password Complexity Requirement" work?

"Password Complexity Requirement" works as follows:

  • Whenever your users select a new password, they will be forced to create a password that meets the criteria you define.

You can define the "Password Complexity Requirement" for your Accompa system by following these steps:

  1. Login using an account that has 'Administrator' privileges.
  2. Click Settings on the top-right, and select Security Controls from the menu.
  3. In the resulting page, click  Define password policy link.
  4. In the page that appears, select desired frequency from  Password complexity requirement picklist.
    • Must mix aplha and numeric: Passwords must contain at least one alphabet and one number.
    • Must mix aplha, numeric, and special characters: Passwords must contain at least one alphabet, one number, and one special character. "Special" characters are those that are neither an alphabet nor a number - examples: ~!@#$%^&*()_+[]{}:<>
  5. Click the "Save" button.
